Packers are ready to have a season without CB Al Harris

As a long time teammate with Brett Favre, the Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris has been expecting to meet with his former teammate, who is likely to appear on field in Vikings’ version of Brett Favre jersey. However, his recovery from the torn knee could delay the meeting to late in regular season.

According to Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, the Packers are prepared for a season without Harris and have a careful plan with cornerbacks. If necessary, the team will not hesitate to place Harris on the physically unable to perform list for the season’s first six weeks and have Tramon Williams start at the position until Harris has gathered enough strength in his leg.

But there is no doubt that Harris is going to play some part of the regular season and his starting job will be given back to him upon his return. It’s not sure yet when is the best time for him to return, and the Packers just do not want to take any risk of having Harris get injured again.
