According to recent reports, the Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis could miss most of the 2010 regular season as he has undergone a surgery on his right knee to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which was torn twice during last season.
Davis tore his ACL first in a Nov. 8 game against the New Orleans Saints after the defensive man in Saints jersey talked him. Davis had a speedy recovery and returned in time before the 2009 season ended. Unfortunately, the knee seemed not fully recovered and was injured again this Tuesday while Davis was backpedaling in a non-contact drill.
It has not been how long it would take for Davis to recover from the surgery and when he could be back with his team. But since the speedy recovery resulted a second injury, Davis would not try another speedy recovery and could wait until his leg in 100% fine before returning to play game, and the Panthers also expressed that they did not expect Davis to return early in the new season.
